ContinuitiHR is a super niche search firm that has been dedicated to the placement of HR professionals nationally since 2003!  Currently we are working with a manufacturing organization located in Alpena, MI to fill an HR Generalist role.  The ideal candidate will have a solid HR background in a manufacturing environment with experience in all aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, labor relations and collective bargaining, benefits administration, as well as payroll.  This is a solo HR role in a dynamic organization in the midst of an exciting period of growth and change.

What you will be doing:

Managing the day-to-day labor/management issues, including the grievance procedure, facilitating the process with local management and the union local as well as the union international business rep

Providing high-quality advice and coaching to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues

Initiating and coordinating the full cycle recruitment and selection process and collaborate with hiring managers throughout the search process

Managing full life cycle recruitment and selection process and collaborate with hiring managers throughout the search process

Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends, recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claim

Introducing and maintaining new hire on-boarding and follow up process as well as manage exit interview process and reporting

Managing the full cycle recruitment and selection process and collaborate with hiring managers throughout the search process

Acting as point of contact for employee inquiries to assist with identifying and resolving questions/issues

Communicating company and government rules, regulations, processes and procedures and the need for compliance to management and employees

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • 7+ years broad based human resources experience in a union/manufacturing environment
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well versed in federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
