Compensation Consultant

The Compensation Consultant will be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of compensation processes, programs and policies to ensure competitive compensation practices across the organization. Primary responsibilities include analyzing compensation data, performing job analyses, creating/editing job descriptions, and consulting with internal departments and HR colleagues as it relates to specific jobs, organizational structure, market pricing reviews, and pay decisions.

Participate in development of compensation strategies and practices aligned with corporate objectives

Partner with Leadership on program design, analysis and modeling, implementation of new programs, and compensation automation projects

Analyze the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives

Conducts job evaluation, market analysis, and classification projects; determines salary grade levels, market value of roles, and exemption status.

Provide context, interpretation and recommendations for results of standard compensation reports

Analyze survey data and market trends and make recommendations of needed changes in the existing structure to maintain external market competitiveness.

Analyze survey data for benchmark positions to determine market position. Work with managers/directors to make recommendations.

Perform budget analysis for proposed adjustments.

Participates in related projects, such as merit and bonus administration, salary structure design, and salary survey participation.

Make recommendations to ensure competitive and accurate employee pay practices; develop recommendations for merit increases, structure changes, promotional increases, wage adjustments, general increases and pay practices

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum five years of HR experience performing Compensation related duties such as: conducting/leading job evaluation projects, performing internal equity and external market analysis, determining exemption status, and consulting with management on compensation recommendations.

Certified Compensation Professional designation preferred

Experience working with various market data surveys

Strong consulting mindset with the ability to build effective relationships

Proven project management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to drive and lead processes while achieving results

Ability to analyze issues from multiple viewpoints and develop effective alternatives and action plans

Expert knowledge of human resources and compensation practices, with strong knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other HR-related laws.
