Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide advice and counsel to employees and managers on human resource issues:
: Handle employee complaints, investigations, dispute resolution and corrective action recommendations and closure.
: Lead investigations into employee questions, concerns, disputes, complaints relating to various employee policies (including discrimination and harassment) and recommend appropriate action.
: Provide policy interpretation for managers and employees on employee relations matters.
: Support performance management and remediation process. Identify employee needs regarding performance deficiencies and remedial processes to that they can be addressed. Work with managers to further reinforce through performance development and planning.
Manage HR risk via compliance with HR related regulations:
: Keep Company HR policies and practices current and compliant with employment regulations. As needed, work with third party HR consultants and legal counsel.
: Periodically review and modify policies. Perform routine internal audits to ensure adherence and compliance with processes. Serve as the primary point of contact and participate in related risk management related efforts at the business level.
: Lead the implementation efforts to institute changes to ensure human resource policies/practices are current including but not limited to assessment of needs, communication, training and delivery support.
: Work & Leave Management: Administer leaves of absence including FMLA, non-FMLA, military, and other leaves. Track all leave time. Monitor, follow-up, and communicate with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance providers as needed. Ensure all necessary documentation and forms are complete and sufficient. Administer ADA and manage accommodations processes associated with all regulatory requirements.
: Partner with organizational resources and serve as the point of contact for corporate on worker's compensation and workplace accommodations.
Ensure that there is a framework in place to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace:
: Inclusion & Non-Discrimination: Serve as the liaison to management and the focal point for compliance reporting including affirmative action planning and associated initiatives and non-discrimination compliance. Support employee involvement and company sponsorship to promote inclusion and diversity.
: Plan, recommend, and implement job eliminations and reductions in workforce across the various business locations to ensure consistency, adherence to process and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
: A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
: 10+ years experience combined experience handling compliance requirements and providing employee relations support. SPHR-CA certification at minimum is highly desired.
: Experience promoting positive employee relations including diversity and inclusion initiatives required.
: Extensive experience conducting investigations and addressing employee questions, concerns, disputes, complaints relating to various employee policies (including discrimination and harassment) required.
: Direct experience developing various compliance plans including affirmative action plans, obtaining management buy-in and imbedding them into the workplace required.
: Must have strong knowledge of HR compliance requirements for state and federal employment laws including, but not limited to: FMLA, Title VII, ADA/ADAAA, FLSA, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, federal contractor regulations including OFCCP and Service Contract Act.
: Experience in HR disciplines with emphasis on: hiring, coaching, and terminating employees; training and development; regulatory compliance; and performance management.
: Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required, including, among others, the ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Must also have ability to communicate sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
: Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS systems (UltiPro, ADP and Oracle is a plus+). Requires a thorough understanding of the data and how it relates to the enterprise. Advanced Excel skills required; proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
: Must have ability to maintain confidentiality, good judgment and problem-solving skills.
: Demonstrated skills in conceptual and analytical thinking, driving results, creative problem solving, consulting and collaboration within all levels of the organization.
: Strong project management skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. PMP certification desirable.
: Ability to communicate with and influence all levels of management within various countries/cultures. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
: Demonstrated self-confidence, initiative, accountability, and high level of engagement
